Back in the middle of October (2025), we finally got around to launching a little passion project of ours – our first official zine. We had been toying with the idea for quite some time, and quite honestly we had a million ideas for themes that we could do. For our first launch, we settled on a topic that we work with the most – soviet “iconography”.

Titled “Faces From the East” – the zine features 32 high quality, color photos from the various abandoned soviet military installations that we’ve encountered over the past 15 years. Many of the images havent been published on the blog (which should tell you 1) how big of a backlog we have 2) how slow we are at times with publishing stuff online) – but all give an interesting glimpse into a parallel world.
We mainly “advertised” the zine on our social account over on bluesky (if you have an account – go give us a follow) and the responses were extremely positive. We’ve had orders from Sweden, France, the Netherlands and all over Germany – and we are currently down to the last few copies. Its at this point that we realised we never did an announcement post or anything, and some people who dont follow us on social media might have completely missed this. As we are contemplating doing a small second print run, we thought wed give the zine a little push and sell out the first run, and if the demand is big enough, well launch a second run. Hey – we might even do a second volume in the coming months.

If your interested in grabbing one of the last copies – head on over to the Faces From The East” page (click here!) and submit your order. Prices for orders within Germany are €12 and everywhere else – including the UK and US is €15, which includes shipping!
As Black Friday is around the corner: If you order between the 26th of November and the 1st of December and use the code “Vostok” in the comment field, youll even get a nice 15% discount.
