A few years back I was living out west in Arizona – more specifically in Chandler, a small suburb on the outskirts of Phoenix. Aside from tumbleweeds there’s nothing out there to see. It’s a rather desolate place. I used to bike around alot, most of the time heading out into the Desert in the evenings and weekends – mostly because I liked the absurdity of it. During one of these excursions I stumbled upon a Trainyard. I’m quite a fan of Boxcar Art and Graffiti, and after reading a book about Train Hobos and Freight Train Riders (and some stuff by Bill Daniel who made an awesome documentary movie about his search for Bozo Texino). So every other weekend I tramped out to this Train yard in search of the markings of Bozo Texino and other Freight Train Riders.
So fast forward a few years, I found this film in one of my cameras which I hadn’t used in years and got it developed (I still have several rolls of film that I need to get developed from these outings.). The following pictures – which were in surprisingly good condition – are from one of those weekend outings when I was searching for Bozo Texino.
I never did find his mark in the end.
