"Urban Exploration is the exploration of man-made structures, usually abandoned ruins or not usually seen components of the man-made environment."
Abandoned Places Berlin - I came for the history and stayed for the scenery. Like so many others, I share the love for the long forgotten structures that dot the city and its surroundings. My aim is to document and historically place the countless abandoned buildings in Berlin before they are converted or demolished and lost to us forever. Every building has a secret to discover and a story to be told.
Take only photographs, and leave nothing but footprints
Why do some of the Posts have addresses while others don't?
Some places are such common knowledge that theres no point in hiding the address - especially for quite a few or the more well known Abandoned locations. While there are plenty of arguments for and against publishing locations (though there is a strong correlation between addresses and vandalism) - some places deserve to remain a secret.
Why don't you publish posts about Belitz, Spreepark or Teufelsberg?
Those locations don't qualify as abandoned anymore as they have become a tourist itinerary. Though they are of historical interest, these places have seen more visitors this year, than in the past 20 years combined. Abandoned means devoid of people - not having an organised tour through the place.
